All ventilator support for Marlise Munoz and her baby were removed on Sunday in compliance with a judge’s order.  Her baby, I’ll call him/her Gabriel, was 23 weeks, old enough to survive outside of the womb.  Gabriel’s asphyxiation was foreseen, easily avoidable and—we are forced to conclude—deliberately planned.  They left Gabriel’s corpse within his mother’s.  Her husband, Erick Munoz, who sued the hospital to force it to remove the ventilator from his baby, takes his place among the great feckless fathers of our time, alongside Michael Schiavo, and next to the millions of gutless cowards who drive their lovers to Planned Parenthood.  O God, what have we become?!

Baby Gabriel, Rest in Peace.
